The Venerable Alan Naylor was appointed Priest in Charge of the Parish of St. Mark, effective September 1, 2006, and inducted as Rector on December 5, 2006 by the Right Rev. James Cowan, Bishop of British Columbia.
Born and raised in South Africa, Alan completed undergraduate and postgraduate science degrees there before immigrating to Canada in 1982 where he obtained an MBA degree and pursued a career in the oil, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Married in 1974, Alan & Diana have raised three children who are now young adults.
Always very involved in lay ministries in the Anglican Church, Alan discerned a call to ordained ministry, completed an M.Div. degree at Trinity College, University of Toronto, and was ordained in 1998. He was the Executive Officer of the Diocese of Edmonton, Alberta and Rector of St. Andrew's, Morinville from 1998 to 2001, before becoming Rector of St. Timothy's, Edmonton and Archdeacon of Edmonton West.
